Our client is a growing engineering / manufacturing SME, privately owned with strong growth year on year.  This new appointment is for a strong finance professional to join the business to head up the finance function.  Reporting into the owners you will be the key point of contact for all things finance.  You will work closely in providing strong financial information to assist with decision making and their next phase of planned growth.  This is a varied role with a focus on forward planning while maintaining the day to day finances.

Key duties will include

• Full responsibility for financial management, reporting, and compliance

• Preparation of monthly management accounts, budgets, forecasts, and cashflows
• Cost control, margin analysis, and profitability reporting
• Able to work closely with a leadership team to assist them in their next phase of growth
• Strong analytical and technology driven with an eye for improving processes
• Management of working capital, banking relationships, and funding arrangements
• Continuous improvement of financial systems, controls, and processes
• Leadership/Liaison with external auditors, accountants, and advisors

The ideal person

• Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
• Commercial experience working at company accountant level or Financial Controller level
