Assistant Accountant

Belfast (BT13)

Salary c.£30K – £35K DOE

On behalf of our client a leading manufacturing business supplying globally to some of the world’s largest consumer, agricultural and healthcare corporations, McKinty Associates are delighted to invite an experienced Assistant Accountant to join our clients the growing finance team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assistance with preparation of monthly management accounts.
• Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assistance with year-end audit.
• Assistance with internal audit programme.
• Processing of ROI payroll and producing journals.
• Preparation of UK and ROI VAT/Intrastat returns and other HMRC statutory returns.
• Ad hoc duties as required by the Financial Controller.
• Supporting wider Finance team.

Eligibility criteria:

• Part Qualified Accountant (minimum of 2 years’ experience).
• Recent experience in a fast-paced commercial accounting role.
• Experience of preparing management accounts.
• Firm understanding of internal controls.
• Competent experience using Sage 50 or Sage 200 / other relevant accounting programs.
• Excellent Excel skills (vlookups, sumif, pivot tables etc).
• Ability to work effectively both alone and in a team environment.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Time management and organisation skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
