McKinty Associates are working with a professional Financial Planning firm who have a requirement for a Research Analyst to join their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to become a vital part of the financial planning process working closely with both the Financial Planner and Client Liaison Team.


The Research Analyst will be responsible for proactively generating and compiling research and analysis on which the suitability of advice is based for new and existing clients.


Main duties will include:

  • Managing the preparation of Client Financial Plans and Suitability Reports including comparative illustrations required to support recommendations.
  • Production of cashflow modelling and cashflow planning reports to support investment advice.
  • File preparation for new business submissions.
  • Review of KYC information to ensure all relevant information and data is captured.
  • Supporting in research and analysis to meet clients’ needs.
  • Research and analysis of financial products and services.
  • Analyse and interpret financial information and creating reports.
  • Developing and maintaining internal relationships.
  • Ensuring all FCA related and other regulatory compliance standards are met.
  • Relevant ad hoc duties as required.


Essential eligibility criteria:

  • Previous experience within an IFA/regulated environment.
  • Understanding of the full financial planning & corporate advice process.
  • Certificate in Financial Services (Desirable but not essential).
  • Computer literate – including strong Microsoft Excel & Word skills.
  • Excellent report writing skills.
  • Working knowledge of Project Management.
  • Strong academic record.
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Detailed and accurate.
  • Able to work under pressure and prioritise workloads to meet client expectations.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
