Part-Time Finance/Admin Officer (Maternity Cover)

Salary c.£10.00 – £13.00 per hour DOE

We are pleased to be working with a client who wishes to appoint a part-time Finance/Admin Officer to join their team on a temporary basis to cover Maternity. It is envisaged that the hours will be c.30/week but this may fluctuate slightly.

Providing accountancy support including the production of accurate, timely and relevant financial information and monitoring returns, the post holder will be responsible for processing payroll, income and expenditure, all financial transactions, monitoring reports and audit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The day-to-day accounting function of the programme.
  • Maintenance of financial information systems, processes and procedures.
  • To provide basic financial advice and guidance as and when required.
  • To be responsible for the PAYE system, payment of wages and pensions and to ensure that all relevant statutory returns are processed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • To administer various sources of funding and cost centres.
  • To ensure the maintenance of proper financial records in accordance with all relevant procedures e.g. bank lodgements/reconciliations, invoices and payment, petty cash etc.
  • To assist in the production of financial statements / reports.
  • General finance administration such as filing and archiving material.
  • To undertake any other relevant duties as required.

Essential eligibility criteria:

  • Recent relevant experience in a finance team (Minimum of 2 years)
  • Recognised accountancy qualification e.g. IATI
  • Experience in accounts packages
  • Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office packages
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work on your own initiative
  • Have the ability to prioritise tasks effectively and manage own workload
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and team player

Desirable criteria:

  • Knowledge of the 3rd sector/charity accounting requirements/guidelines.
