Finance Officer/Accounting Technician/Accounts Supervisor

C £25-31k with excellent holidays, early finish Friday

Our client is looking to appoint an experienced Accounting Technician to join their business following a restructure of the finance function.  This is a key finance role reporting into the Directors and liaising with the senior management team.  It will be a varied role with the chance to make your mark in your department.  Hours are 9-5pm Mon to Thursday with a 4.30 pm finish on a Friday.  They also offer 13 public /bank holidays and 22 days holiday rising with length of service to a maximum of 28 days.

Key Duties

This is a hands-on role with responsibility for the day-to-day financial management

• You will get involved with budgeting, forecasting, cash flows, preparation of month end accounts and managing year end audit responsibilities.
• Maintain and develop strong financial systems, controls and processes
• Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger, Journals, Bank Reconciliations, accruals and pre payments
• Manage Fixed Asset Register
• Variance analysis
• HMRC liaison including VAT returns, Payroll compliance etc
• Responsible for corporate filings with liaison with external bodies

The Ideal Candidate

A minimum of 5 GCSE’s including English and Maths and either

Qualified Accounting Technician or similar and 3 years finance office experience

Or

Accounting/business degree and 2 years’ experience in a finance office environment

Or

A minimum of 5 GCSE’s including English and Maths and 5 years recent experience in a busy finance office
