Finance Assistant – Accounts Payable

Salary c.£25K – £28K DOE

On behalf of our client, McKinty Associates are delighted to invite an experienced Finance Assistant / Purchase Ledger Clerk to join the busy Finance team within this warehousing and logistics business.

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, responsibilities will include matching and processing supplier invoices for payment, resolving supplier invoice and payment queries, maintaining supplier accounts, assisting with setting up BACs files and payment runs.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Accounts Payable – posting and matching of supplier invoices received
• Liaising with vendors/suppliers in regards to invoice and payment queries
• Ensuring all invoices are processed in a timely and accurate manner
• Setting up and processing supplier payment runs
• Clearance of old debit balances
• Implement weekly BACS runs
• Provide payment run forecasts for cashflow
• Oversee and ensure compliance with procurement and approved suppliers list
• Supplier statement reconciliations
• Month end close duties
• Assisting with entry and allocation of supplier payments onto finance system

Eligibility criteria:

• Previous Accounts Payable experience – minimum of 2 years in a busy finance function
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel including V-Lookup, formulas, and Pivot tables
• Ability to work under minimum supervision
• Ability to develop and build good working relationships
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Strong IT skills and ability to work to deadlines
• Keen eye for detail
