Accounts Assistant / Purchase Ledger Clerk

Downpatrick (BT30)

Salary c.£20K – £22K DOE

On behalf of our client, McKinty Associates are pleased to invite an experienced Accounts Assistant / Purchase Ledger Clerk to join the busy Finance team of one of the fastest growing food manufacturers in the UK.



  • Post Purchase invoices to accounting system.
  • Checking quantities and prices are correct against PO.
  • Supplier statement reconciliations.
  • Liaise with internal departments and supplier’s when queries arise.
  • Setting up new suppliers.
  • Report on variances from Standard cost for raw materials purchased.
  • Filing, scanning and running reports.
  • Other ad hoc duties as required.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Recent experience working as a Purchase Ledger Clerk.
  • Practical knowledge of computerised accounts packages.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages including Excel and Word.
  • Strong Analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to use own initiative and work to strict deadlines.
  • Team player.
