Qualified Accountant (Maternity Contract- 12 months)



Our client is a key employer in Cookstown and they have a 12-month post for an Accountant to cover a period of maternity leave.   There is potential for permanency within the finance team as the business is growing extensively.



Main Duties

  • Reporting to the Financial Controller you will be responsible for preparing both financial and management accounts and being proactive in assisting with the close off at month end
  • Prepare various KPI reports looking and key areas across the commercial team
  • Assist with improving internal controls
  • Monitor and update cash forecasts
  • Assist with preparation of annual audit file and liaise with auditors when appropriate
  • Have strong P&L and Balance Sheet experience and be confident in dealing with queries and discrepancies
  • Assist with regulatory returns including VAT, PAYE etc


The person


  • Fully qualified with a minimum of 2 years Post qualification experience
  • Our client will consider someone for either an industry or practice environment
  • Strong technical financial and management reporting skills and proven analytical ability
  • Commercial outlook
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good IT skills particularly Excel
