McKinty Associates are seeking to recruit a Company Accountant to join the Finance team of a leading Technology business based in Derry/Londonderry. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the successful individual will be responsible for day-to-day Accounting, management reporting, assisting with board pack presentation and analysis to assist with the rapid growth of the company. The post is ideally suited to a newly qualified Accountant.

This is an exciting opportunity offering ownership and varied exposure with a business that has gone from strength to strength and has further expansion plans.


  • Overseeing the Sales and Purchase Ledgers on Sage 50 Accounts
  • Weekly Supplier Payments
  • Weekly bank reconciliations
  • Bi-weekly Credit Card reconciliations and Monthly Petty Cash reconciliations
  • Preparation of quarterly VAT returns
  • Assisting Financial Controller in the preparation of monthly management accounts and management reports
  • Preparation of Margin Analysis by product and customer
  • Assisting Financial Controller in the preparation of forecasts and budgets
  • Preparing Ad Hoc Finance reports for Financial Controller
  • Preparing Monthly Payroll and Payroll Processing
  • Monthly Balance Sheet and P&L reconciliations
  • Liaising with key suppliers
  • Preparation of monthly accruals, prepayments and fixed assets schedules
  • Completion of Statutory Government returns
  • Managing monthly staff expenses process
  • Working closely with the Financial Controller on all key financial aspects of reporting within the business


  • Must be either Qualified or nearing completion of their qualification (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification)
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience within a busy Finance/Accounts function
  • Strong communication and able to effectively communicate at all levels within the organisation, both internally and externally
  • Attention to detail and high levels of accuracy and the ability to work to month end close deadline
  • Excellent IT Skills in particular strong Excel expertise
  • Sage 50 Accounts and Sage Payroll experience desirable
  • Experience of preparing full Accounts (Financial or Management) desirable
